From a form to a site you can click through

We built our whole process around one idea: you should see a real, working version of your site before you spend anything - and you should be looking at it soon after you ask.

How a build runs

Seven steps, and the first six are free

The same pipeline runs for every business, which is what keeps the quality even. Most people go from filling in the form to clicking through five previews in about a week, and the first time money comes up is step seven.

  1. Phase 1

You fill out a 5-minute form

Your name, your business, what you sell, your city, and who you want walking through the door. Five minutes on your phone, and the next thing you see is the work itself.

That is enough to target the searches that matter in your market: your services, your area, and the kind of customer you want more of.

  2. Phase 2

We write it and build it

Service pages, an about page, and homepage copy are written and structured for your market. The design is assembled around the business you described.

Copy is written for your specific services and your location, line by line. Every page is structured around searches a local business can realistically win.

  3. Phase 3

Checked by program, then by eye

Every page is looked at on mobile, tablet, and desktop. Speed is tested. Problems get fixed before you see a single pixel.

We check how it looks on real phones, tablets and desktops, and how quickly it appears. All before you see it.

  4. Phase 4No charge

You get five live preview links

Five working links you can open on your own phone. Each one is a genuinely different take on your business, with the look to match.

One might lead with photographs of finished work, another with fixed prices, another with how quickly you can get someone out. All five run on the same setup your live site will use, so what you are looking at is what your customers would get.

  5. Phase 5No charge

You get a technical SEO audit

A plain-English read on what is holding your current site back, and what the new one does differently. Speed, structure, how it behaves on a phone, and whether Google can understand what you do.

Plain English, and just the things that are costing you visibility, in the order worth fixing them. Yours to keep whether you go ahead with us or not.

  6. Phase 6No charge

You get a call to talk it through

A proper conversation about your trade, your town, and the work you want more of. We go through the five previews together and you say what is landing and what is not.

A straight conversation, in your own words. If it turns out a website is not what you need right now, we will tell you that - it is a better outcome for both of us than a customer who regrets it in month three.

  7. Phase 7

If you want to go ahead, we launch it

This is the first point where anything costs money. Pick the direction you want and tell us what you would change, and two rounds of changes are part of the build. Then it goes live on your own web address.

Most sites take one or two rounds of changes. Once live you get admin access to edit your own content and read your enquiries, and we can set up tracking and your Google listing so you can watch the work come in.

What arrives in your inbox

Five perspectives on the same business

Each preview leads with a different reason someone should call you, and the whole page is built around that reason - a different first thing on the screen, a different order, a different thing asked of the visitor. Seeing them side by side is how you find out which one sounds like you.

  • Dispatch Blue

    We can be there today.

Phone number above everything, van photo beside it, three reasons to trust you.

  • Blacktop Signal

    We turn up same day.

One claim across the whole screen, then the hours. Nothing else competes.

  • Sunroom Clay

    Look at the work.

Photograph first and full width. The words wait until you have seen it.

  • Porcelain Teal

Book it in under a minute.

The form is the hero. Reading about you is optional and lives further down.

  • Gilded Hearth

    Here is the price.

Three plain columns near the top, because the question was never anything else.

Sketches of five directions, drawn in the palettes we actually build in. Yours arrive as five working links you can open on your phone. Keep one, or take the header from one and the pricing from another - it is all adjustable.

Weighing it up

Three ways to end up with a website

All three of these work. They ask for different things from you, and they differ most in what happens after launch day.

Build it yourself

Wix, Squarespace, Google Sites

The cheapest way, and plenty of good small-business sites get made this way. What it asks for is your time: every word, every photograph, every layout decision, and the evenings to do them in.

Best if you enjoy that part

Commission a one-off build

A freelancer or a design shop

Someone builds it properly and hands you the keys, usually for a few thousand up front. The work is often excellent. The open question is who changes your hours next spring, and who notices when a page stops loading.

Best if you have someone in-house
