Common questions
Do I own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, the code, and every piece of content. If you ever cancel, I will help you migrate to any other host. This is the opposite of how FindLaw works - they own your domain and code, and you lose everything if you leave.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contracts. You are on month-to-month billing. Cancel with 30 days notice. There is no separate setup fee on top of your subscription - your first month covers the build work.
Why is there no setup fee?
Because the math works without one. Each site costs us very little to build (Cloudflare hosting is free; the actual labor is largely automated and you stay involved through the preview review). Your first month covers the build. If the relationship works, you continue at the monthly rate. If it does not, you have only paid for one month and you keep your code.
How is this different from Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress?
DIY builders require you to design, write, and optimize everything yourself. WordPress sites built on shared hosting are slow and maintenance-heavy. WebTinker builds a custom site for your specific practice area and location, writes the content, handles state bar compliance, sets up Google, and puts it on Cloudflare - which is significantly faster than any shared host. You also get a built-in CMS without needing plugins.
How is this cheaper than a local web agency?
A local agency charges $3,000-$10,000 upfront for design time, meeting time, and project management overhead. Automation eliminates most of that. The monthly fee covers hosting (free on Cloudflare), ongoing maintenance, CMS support, and any updates you request. The actual infrastructure cost per site is under $2/month.
What happens to my site if I cancel?
You keep everything. The code is yours - you can host it yourself on Cloudflare Pages for free or move it anywhere that runs Next.js static exports. I will provide a full handoff with all credentials.
Is the $199/month Starter plan enough to rank in Google?
It sets the technical foundation correctly: schema, speed, compliance, Search Console. For competitive practice areas (personal injury, criminal defense, divorce), the Professional plan ($349/month) with monthly blog content will move the needle faster. Starter is ideal for low-competition markets or attorneys who primarily rely on referrals and just need a credible web presence.
Do I need to provide anything to get started?
